Project: Visitors Centre at Sydney Olympic Park
Client: Sydney Olympic Park Authority
Location: Australia
Discipline: Brand Strategy | Interiors | Graphics

Landini Associates were approached by Sydney Olympic Park Authority to reinvent the Visitor Gateway Centre and gravitate away from the concept of it exclusively being a museum from the glory of the Sydney 2000 Olympics. Confining one space, the aim was to capture the essence of the park and the Authority’s five values; intelligent, prescient, inclusive, vibrant and exemplar.

Three ‘Zones’ within the Gateway Centre devised, representing each of the five values. Firstly, The Heat Zone, providing information about current and future events, then The Experience Zone that bears further details on particular events held at the park, and finally, The Interpretation Zone, which goes into detail the history of the park.

Challenges include the need to align the Authority’s values with the design, the use of sustainable concepts and design and the requirement for a degree of innovation and technology. Attaining this, allows visitors to embrace the spirit of the Sydney Olympic Park.
