Part food court, part food hall and part factory, The Kitchens offers a truly unique, immersive experience all under the one roof and brand: The Kitchens.

Engaged by QIC to reinvent “fresh food” in Australia, we created a gastronomic playground, transforming a mono-floored hall into a two storey hive of activity with “makers that retail” and “retailers that make”.  The result is a bustling urban marketplace where artisans, chefs, providores, purveyors and food lovers come together to share their passion of food.

Landini’s scope included the visioning, naming and branding, signage, packaging and uniforms as well as the master planning, interior of all common spaces, and interior design guidelines.

More than a food hall, the concept of the Kitchens celebrates community much like the town centre of yesterday, highlighting all facets of food.  Not simply a place to enjoy delicious, fresh, simple food, all aspects of the manufacturing process are also on view to the public.  A cultural destination open morning, noon and night (9am 10pm daily), here you can watch local artisans and purveyors produce their wares with passion and expertise; learn tips and tricks from the experts and taste specialties.

It’s a place for everyone and everyone’s place. It’s about simple things done really well. Real food, for real people, in real time; a community inspired by food and society.
